Sekilas mengenai Toji temple:
In the 13th year of Enryaku (794) the Emperor Kammu transfered the capital of this country from Nara to Kyoto and he built, after the model of Changan, the then capital of China, two huge guardian temples on the east and the west side of the Rajyo-mon which was the south gateway to Kyoto. They are Toji temple (East Temple) and Saiji Temple (West Temple).
Five Storied Pagoda, was National Treasure, Edo Period. The five storied pagoda is so famous that it reminds all Japanese of Kyoto and Toji. It is the highest pagoda in Japan, measuring 187 feet. It was built by Kobo daishi in 826 and burned down four times after being struck by lightning. The present pagoda was built by the third Tokugawa Shogun Iemitsu in 1644. Inside are placed the images of four Buddhas and their followers, the eight great Bosatsu.

Setelah mampir ke Toji, kita meneruskan perjalanan ke Nara dengan naik bis 208 menuju stasiun Kyoto. Dari stasiun Kyoto, naik kereta Nara Line turun di stasiun Nara.

Sekilas mengenai Nara :
Nara was the capital of Japan, called Heijokyo, from 710 to 784. It was considered the cradle of Japanese culture, arts, and crafts. Buddhism first flourished here under the strong patronage of successive emperors and empresses. Major cultural heritage in Nara have been registered on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List as an irreplaceable part of the cultural heritage of all humanity.
One of sightseeing spots in Nara is Nara Park. Nara Park, a huge wasteland area was made into a park in 1880 and was designated as a scenic spot in 1922. It is in this park that famous temples and shrines designated as the World HeritageSites by UNESCO, such as Kofukuji Temple, Todaiji Temple and Kasuga Grand Shrine, are located. There is no doubt that such scenic spots, with theirs special integration of history and nature, are to be seen nowhere els. The tame deer, which are one of the symbols of Nara, present a pleasant scene of serenity
.
Kasuga Grand Shrine, buka dari jam 9 pagi sampe 4 sore.
Generally believed to have been founded by the Fujiwara Family (the most powerful imperial
court nobles in the 8th century), to their tutelary deity, after the capital was moved to
Heijo-kyo (present-day Nara). The architectual style of the sanctuary is called the “Kasuga style”, because of the characteristic shape of its roof. The surrounding vermilion corridors, filled with bronze hanging lanterns, and surrounded by a thick, green grove, create an elegant atmosphere.

Kofukuji Temple, buka dari jam 9 pagi sampai jam 5 sore.
With the establishment of the new capital, Heijo-kyo, in 710, the Umayasaka Temple was moved from Asuka to its present site and was given its present name. In additionto the five-story pagoda, which is well known as a symbol of Nara, various buildings and historic Buddhist statues remind us of the long, impressive history of this temple.

Todaiji Temple
Founded by Emperor Shomu to enshrine the Great Image of Buddha (Vairocana Buddha) and as the General Head-temple of all provincial temples in Japan. It was completed in 752. Unfortunately, fire destroyed the edifice twice, and the present structure, which was rebuilt in 1692, was scaled down to two-third of the original size.
Nevertheless, it is the largest wooden building in the world and the magnificent structure is sure to fill its visitors with awe.

Tokyo Tower (東京タワー Tōkyō tawā?) is a tower in Shiba Park, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan ( 35°39′31″N, 139°44′44″E). It is 332.6 m (1091 ft) tall[1], making it one of the world's highest self-supporting steel towers and the tallest man-made structure in Japan.

The design of the tower is based on the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. Despite being 8.6 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower (32.6 if the latter's TV antenna is not included), Tokyo Tower only weighs about 4000 tons, whereas the Eiffel Tower weighs about 7300 tons.

It is painted in white and international orange according to air safety regulations. From dusk to midnight, the tower is brilliantly illuminated in orange. The lighting is occasionally changed for special events; for the Japan premiere of the movie The Matrix, for instance, the Tower was lit in neon green.[citation needed]

As it is mainly surrounded by low-rise buildings, Tokyo Tower can be seen from many points in the central wards of Tokyo, such as Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Bay, the east gardens of the Imperial Palace, and the southern promenade of Shinjuku Station.

History about Tokyo Tower
In the postwar boom of the 1960s, Japan was looking for a monument to symbolize its ascendancy as a global economic powerhouse. Looking to the Western world for inspiration, the Tokyo Government decided to erect its own Eiffel Tower. One of the tower's key early proponents was politician and Sankei Shimbun co-founder Hisakichi Maeda. The tower was completed by the Takenaka Corporation in 1958 (69 years after the Eiffel Tower) at a total cost of ¥2.8 billion.

Maeda's son, Fukusaburo Maeda, later became president of Nihon Denpato, the tower's operating company. In 1988, at the height of the Japanese asset price bubble, he established a subsidiary (Tokyo Tower Development) to set up a golf course project in Chiba Prefecture. Although the golf course opened in 1995, it failed to make a return on its profits due to an economic recession in Japan, and the company ended up deeply in debt and losing money. As a result Tokyo Tower was mortgaged for 10 billion yen in 2000.

The planned opening of the taller Sumida Tower in 2011 is expected to further depress Tokyo Tower's profits as broadcasters move to the new tower.

Tokyo Tower is a member of the World Federation of Great Towers.

Nikko is a small city at the entrance to Nikko National Park. It is most famous for the Toshogu, Japan's most lavishly decorated shrine complex and mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate.
Nikko has been a center of Shinto and Buddhist mountain worship for many centuries, and Nikko National Park continues to offer scenic, mountainous landscapes, lakes, waterfalls, hot springs, wild monkeys and hiking trails.
